A New Friend

I was able to speak with a kind man who is from Utah and has Primary systemic amyloidosis. He had chemo and bone marrow transplant in 2009. He was able to share his experience with me and give me some answers to probably unimportant questions, but questions I had.

His sweet fiance was there and helped him through the whole experience. He also had a friend who he grew up with that was also diagnosed with primary amyloidosis in 2002. His involved his heart. He also did ok through treatment.

I told Greg, that I was feeling like I was the only person in Utah or as least in the West who had this disease. It was very nice of him to take time to visit with me. I have a new friend.

He explained a few of the speed bumps he encountered and hold he dealt with them. He mentioned that the entire staff at the 8th floor BMT unit is awesome. I really feel fortunate to be receiving care there.

  1. This is such a neat blessing! If I were facing so many unknowns it would be very comforting to be able to learn from someone who had been through it. You know we don't believe in coincidence -- I love Elder Maxwell's label "Divine Design" so much better. You are SO loved!
