Photos of my Hospital Life

My delivery elf, Becky. What fun we had!!
Here are the gift baskets ready to begin delivery.

This is how I have to dress up every time I leave my room. It takes energy to go for a walk and energy to put on this lovely outfit. Still have hair..

Here I am on my 2nd birthday, June 14. It was 12:10 p.m when they run in the first bag of my life saving stem cells. The pretty orange colored fluid are the stem cells. It was interesting laying there watching that and realizing that they would literally save my life. Thanks goodness for medical technology. They had me suck on a sucker to help me not taste the preservative the cells were stored in. DMSO preserved the cells making it so they would freeze and not burst and also stay intact as they thawed. They would thaw them in a water bath in about 2 minutes and then they had to be all in me within a short time or the cells would die. They say that pt's take on a "smell" from the DMSO. Some are garlic, some are creamy corn. I hate creamy corn but garlic is so obnoxious. I have been told I "smell" like sweetened condensed milk, but some say I am definitely creamy corn. I can tell I just smell and I want to smell good! I spray lavendar/vanilla spray all over my bedding. In time, the smell will go away. I was given ALOT of fluids with the stem cells as well as the day before when I received blood...well I think I have the all time gold metal for urinating the most in 2 days. I got rid of 13 liters in 2 days!!! and that was without a diuretic. I am almost back to my pre-admission weight and my little kidneys are slightly improved. Now, just to get that heart under control!
Hope you enjoyed a brief look at the life in my room. I will post photos of the room later...
