I was able to drop off the basket and sack of gifts to the hospital on the 4th. I spoke with a nurse today while I was at a visit. She said the patients are loving the gifts. There was one particular patient who was having a hard time and the daughters came out and received some lotion and they went back in and rubbed their mother's feet with the yummy smelling lotion. I can visualize the smiles since I was able to see them before. Thanks to everyone. It is so neat that the wonderful spirit we have in Paradise has extended to the 8th floor of the LDS hospital.
Every day goes by and I get a little stronger. It is a very slow process. I think this is when I am really going to learn patience. The treatment process went so quick and so unbelievably well. The energy level is something I'm still looking for. I think quite often about the fact that I am a walking, breathing miracle. It is so very humbling. I think there must still be some life lessons I am to learn so I ponder what they are.
I am continually amazed at the wonderful support I have received. So many cards and thoughtful remembrances. My extended family (brother, sister and their kids and their grandkids) all wrote letters and drew pictures for me and put it in a box that opened like a drawer. There had to be 50-75 letters, gifts, pictures, quotes in it. What a wonderful gift.
I also received homemade cards from the YW and their leaders from girls camps. They brought smiles and tears to me. So much love and support. My family has been AMAZING. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I still don't know how long I have to remain in the Salt Lake area. I guess I need to quit trying to rush things. I can't even cook for myself yet. I am so blessed to have these sweet Aunt and Uncle who are caring for me.
Life for me is a day by day thing. I know I am getting better every single day. I count my blessings every single day.
