Gratitude

I have found how easy it is to become frustrated when things just don't go the way you think they should. Then I ponder back to my time in the hospital and watched the amazing change that happened in the unit when gratitude was expressed. All I did was make little stars and wrote things I appreciated about them. I plastered the Dr's and PA's doors at night when no one was looking. I also put a star with the phrase..Look at the stars..You have a friend. on each of the patients doors. I noticed when I left they were still there. I had some patients ask me if I was the star person. I also had Dr's and PA's. Everyone was so touched by a simple act of gratitude. Doing this was such fun for me but listening to the comments and watching the change that occurred over little stars reminded me...too often we go along our daily paths and we don't stop to express gratitude to anyone. Most of all, we need to express gratitude to Heavenly Father for all He gives us. It makes us happier and it can change the atmosphere so quickly.

I am grateful I have a sweet Uncle and Aunt who let me live with them. What would I have done?
I am grateful for my family that has rallied around me and around each other and we are all strengthened and closer.
I am grateful to be able to breath...tried that not being able to breathe.
I am so very grateful to my friends in Paradise who have supported me so much. I appreciate the prayers very much. I ask that all of you continue to pray for me because I still have some big hurdles to get across.

That is enough for today's gratitude list. How's your list?

  1. Thanks for the perspective--sometimes simple things like expressing gratitude are the hardest to remember, but the most important:) We love you, and appreciate your great example!
